Homemade Elderberry Syrup:

2/3 C. Elderberries

1 C. Raw Honey (I buy mine local from Costco!)

2 T. Ginger

1 t. Cinnamon

1/2 t. Cloves

3 1/2 C. Water

Toss everything but the honey in a pot and bring to a boil, lower to a slow simmer. Cook covered for about 45 minutes, or until the syrup has reduced to about half.Use a cheesecloth to drain to syrup from the berries. Allow the syrup to cool to lukewarm and stir in the honey. Store in a mason jar in the fridge! I will usually double my recipe and keep half in the freezer as well!

For adults: take 1 T a day, to prevent cold/flu. If you are sick, take 1 T every 2-3 hours.

For children: 1/2-1 t (I would say depending on age and weight) a day. When my kids are sick or getting sick, I give them 1/2 t 2-3 times a day with food and water.

I also love making these into little gummies for my kids! They are so yummy and much easier to give to them all throughout the day if they are sick! I use these trays here and LOVE them!

**I am not a doctor or medical professional! My family loves natural remedies and we have seen great results from elderberry syrup.
